Pathway Forensics LLC, a Houston-based Computer Forensics, E-Discovery, and Digital Investigations firm, announced its adoption of Equivio's technology for grouping of near-duplicates and e-mail threads. By eliminating data redundancy, the Equivio solution enables Pathway Forensics to enhance the value of its client services.
Pathway Forensics has incorporated Equivio technology as a standard component of its E-Discovery services, which include collection, processing, analysis, hosting, and review. Near-duplicate grouping enables Pathway Forensics to accelerate the processing and review of large collections of electronically stored information (ESI), thus reducing litigation costs for clients.
"As the volume of electronic documents continues to expand exponentially, our clients are seeking solutions that enable them to increase review efficiency and effectiveness," said Brian Larsen, Principal at Pathway Forensics. "Utilizing Equivio's technology for near-duplicates and e-mail threads, we can substantially reduce the number of documents that need to be reviewed by clients, resulting in major cost savings."
The grouping of near-duplicates and e-mail threads allows attorneys to skip redundant data, while focusing exclusively on the unique information in each document. By enhancing the ease of data identification, Equivio reduces the risk of missing key information. The Equivio groupings also ensure similar documents are treated consistently, while increasing review productivity and helping litigators meet tight deadlines.
"We are delighted to partner with client-focused service providers such as Pathway Forensics, which recognizes the need for technologies that enable clients to shorten the E-Discovery process and lower overall litigation costs," said Amir Milo, CEO of Equivio. "These concrete benefits have been demonstrated by our customers in a series of benchmarks, in which the Equivio near-duplicate groupings have consistently driven review cost savings of slightly over 30%. With respect to e-mail, the benchmarks reveal average savings of 50%."
