IACIS Certification Program Open
The International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS) announces the opening of its Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE) program to the general public.
This year, for the first time in the history of IACIS, the CFCE Certification Program is now open to members of the general public subject to certain requirements. The membership of IACIS voted to open its Certification Program to non-members in 2010. Since then IACIS has worked to solidify policies and put mechanisms in place to maintain the integrity of the certification process into the future. This will ensure that those who achieve the certification can be confident of its value not only when it is obtained, but for as long as it is maintained.
The CFCE certification program enrollment opened to the general public on March 1, 2011, and will close on April 15, 2011. The IACIS Certification Program begins on June 1, 2011. Enrollment is limited to the first seventy-five approved applicants.
Although enrollment in the CFCE does not entitle candidates who successfully complete it to membership of the organization, they are still subject to the same strict code of ethics that applies to all CFCE holders and to sanctions for breach of those ethics. IACIS believes that, like the policies and mechanisms referred to above, this is essential to maintain the value of the CFCE Program for the good of all who rely on and participate in it.
