In Fraud Examination, Less is More
News Posted: June 25, 2010Serious fraud investigations require an intense commitment of resources to succeed, the chief Executive of New Zealand’s Serious Fraud Office claims. To decrease the number of backlogs and stagnation, the SFO aims to work fewer cases, better and faster.
The SFO’s new strategy involves aggressive investigation of fraud, seeking it out before the crime is reported; advanced technology to help detect and investigate crimes; and increased networking and information sharing between agencies.
The SFO has budgeted $240,000 for a software upgrade this year, focused on forensic analysis tools, litigation support, and case presentation.
