Internet trolls have used social networking sites to post sickening messages supporting the person responsible for gunning down WPC Fiona Bone and WPC Nicola Bone.

John Tully, who represents rank and file officers in the capital, said he believed online comments praising the alleged murderer for his actions should be investigated as public order offences.

Tully has written to Metropolitan Police Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe to ask him to investigate whether any criminal offences have been committed.
