ABA Resolution Addresses Lawyers and Technology

No more lawyer Luddites — not if you are to abide by Resolution 105A, proposed by the ABA Commission on Ethics 20/20 and passed by the House of Delegates. The Resolutions requires lawyers to act competently in securing their clients' data. Lawyers have a duty to keep abreast of the benefits and risks associated with technology, according to new commentary language added to Rule 1.1 (Competence).  Link: Ride the Lightning
